Project Details

Task

The client asked us to create a striking light installation that would not only illuminate the space but also become its visual centerpiece and a reflection of the center’s philosophy.
As they were opening a new wellness center, it was important that the design would surprise visitors, differentiate the space from competitors, and carry a deeper artistic meaning.
Additionally, the installation had to reflect the brand’s corporate colors and be seamlessly integrated into the parametric ceiling.

Our Solution

We designed the “Orbits” kinetic installation, built into the lobby ceiling, where movement, light, and architecture merge into one.

• The installation consists of three circular structures with suspended light elements.
• A total of 58 luminaires were used:
  1. First circle (Ø 2.54 m) — 32 luminaires
  2. Second circle (Ø 1.78 m) — 17 luminaires
  3. Third circle (Ø 1.42 m) — 9 luminaires
• Each luminaire is made of innovative diffusing plastic with integrated LED modules.
• High-precision kinetic winches synchronize smooth movements of the elements.

This creates a continuous light choreography, where circles and lines form dynamic compositions — a kind of orbital dance.

Flexible Light Scenarios

The installation can completely transform the atmosphere depending on the mode:

• Daytime mode — soft, even lighting for relaxation and meditation.
  The installation changes its form every 15 minutes, then freezes for another 15 minutes.
  We matched the light color to the luminaires themselves, which enhanced the glow in the corporate style of the center.
• Evening mode — expressive light effects with fluid movements.
• Event mode — dynamic scenarios with accents, ideal for presentations and special occasions.

Result

The “Orbits” kinetic installation has transformed the interior of NüIQ Wellness Lounge & Med Spa into a living space where light and movement speak a common language.

• The ceiling became the key focal point, setting the mood for the entire environment.
• The installation highlights the harmony of technology and art, central to Skyform Studio’s approach.
• “Orbits” is not just a lighting fixture but a living sculpture that makes the interior dynamic, emotional, and engaging.
