"Aqua Flora"
Public Art Water Installation
Project Details
- Location: Uman, Ukraine
- Client: National Dendrological Park “Sofiyivka”
- Completion Year: 2019
- Dimensions: 2.0 m × 1.16 m × 1.16 m
Client’s Task
To create an expressive water installation for the park and recreational area that would:
- demonstrate how human creativity can reflect the beauty of nature;
- seamlessly complement the landscape and become a photogenic attraction point;
- ensure safe and sustainable operation in a public environment.
Our Solution
- Composition and imagery. Two independent fountains with “blooming” clusters: glass and copper convey the effect of eternal spring, while soft water streams unite the elements into a single scene.
- Light and water. Four LED lights in each core highlight the textures of copper and glass; reflections and glimmers create a dynamic evening atmosphere.
- Materials and engineering. Artistic glass, copper, corrosion-resistant structures; a closed-loop system with water filtration and disinfection ensures stability and minimal maintenance.
- Integration into the environment. Dimensions and placement were chosen to harmonize with the surroundings without overloading pedestrian flow.
- Composition: 2 fountains, 240 glass flowers, 8 LED lights (4 in each)
- Production time: 5 months
Result
- Aqua Flora became an emblem of the recreation zone: a place for photography, meditation, and contemplation of water.
- The installation enhanced the park’s aesthetic appeal and generated a steady flow of organic social media content.
- The combination of glass, copper, light, and water created a recognizable visual language for the space: by day — the fine graphics of the material, by night — luminous poetry and reflections.
