Kinetic Flight
Air Balloons is a kinetic installation conceived as a signature attraction for airports and large public interiors. Combining light sculpture with choreographed motion, it evokes freedom, movement, and travel. The hot-air-balloon motif symbolizes internationality, connecting cultures within a single artistic environment.
Concept & Idea
Inspired by the image of balloons drifting across the globe, we designed a piece that conveys the lightness and dynamism of contemporary travel. In busy terminals where thousands of paths intersect daily, Air Balloons creates an illusion of floating—not just a light object but a living performance that animates the interior.
Movement & Dynamics
The installation comprises 96 moving elements that rise and descend to form 20 dynamic patterns. Each balloon measures Ø 600 mm with a maximum drop of up to 10 m. Over a 20-minute performance, the composition continually transforms into a mesmerizing kinetic show.
