Skyform Studio presents a light art installation for one of Georgia’s most vibrant cities — Batumi. The work blends cutting-edge technology, contemporary city branding, and refined artistic form. BATUMI is not just a word in space; it is a living emblem of the city, breathing light, color, and motion and destined to become a highly photographed landmark.
Concept & philosophy
The idea is to show Batumi as a city that is constantly evolving, revealing new facets to residents and visitors alike. The installation speaks without words, inviting everyone to take part in its story — to look, capture, and share.
Technology & materials
The front face of each letter is a high-quality LED screen displaying fluid gradients and graphics, creating the effect of “living” letters. Letter contours precisely match the screen geometry for a seamless visual.
Bodies are made of polished stainless steel — durable and mirror-reflective, amplifying daylight highlights. Letter height: 2 m.
Dandelions — lightness and dreams
Around the word stands an ensemble of nine illuminated “dandelions”, each 4 m tall. Airy by day and radiant at night, they symbolize lightness, dreams, and travel, forming a lightscape that supports the letters’ scenarios.
Day & night — two identities
By day, steel and glass sparkle in the sun, reflecting the sea, sky, and people. By night, the work switches to show mode: dynamic light programs range from soft gradients to festive rhythms — romance, festival, energy.
Public art & city branding
BATUMI is public art serving recognition and the city’s emotional image. It becomes a meeting point, an attractor, and a natural photo spot. For events, the content can be curated with special playlists and color themes matching seasons and city festivals.
