"Golden Fleece" (Public Art)
Interactive Kinetic Clock
Concept
Golden Fleece is an interactive kinetic art installation that fuses public art, cultural heritage, and contemporary technology. Designed for Tbilisi, it is envisioned as a city landmark that inspires residents and visitors alike.
Heritage within the City
At the core stands a 6-meter-wide circular frame with a floating golden fleece — a powerful emblem of Georgia’s cultural legacy. By day, the work blends into the urban landscape; by night, it transforms into a light performancepowered by 110 purpose-built LED fixtures, turning light and motion into a vivid narrative.
A Living Monument
The installation features 1,000 golden coins, each bearing the name of a renowned Georgian poet, artist, composer, actor, scientist, athlete, or philosopher. Activated by natural wind, the coins stir gently, creating a mesmerizing field of moving reflections — a rare expression of kinetic art in a public space.
The Kinetic Clock
Conceived as an urban timepiece, Golden Fleece uses programmed light sequences and kinetic responses to visualize the passage of time. The choreography can align with the city’s daily cycle, from dusk cues to late-evening highlights, reinforcing the dialogue between history and the present.
