“Orchestra” Interactive public art

“Orchestra” Interactive public art

CONCEPT

“Orchestra” is more than an art object. It is a new type of urban attraction where a person becomes part of the artwork rather than just an observer. Around the world, a new trend is gaining momentum — interactive spaces where people do not simply watch but actively engage with their environment. Orchestra embodies this trend on a new level, combining art, technology, and human participation.

The installation is a living composition that breathes with sound and light, where technology and art merge with human energy. At its core stands a 3.25-meter-tall sculpture composed of 63 musical instruments, symbolizing harmony, diversity, and unity. It reminds us that a city, like an orchestra, sounds harmonious only when all its elements interact.

As a person approaches the installation, they are no longer just a spectator — they become a participant. Music and light respond to movement and presence, transforming the space into a living musical organism where everyone can play their own part. In this way, Orchestra revitalizes the urban environment, turning it into a place of emotion, interaction, and inspiration — a living stage where the city and its people perform together.

This is not just an installation; it is a new language of communication between people and space — an experience that reshapes our vision of the city of the future.

SOUND BORN FROM THE SPACE

Inside the sculpture, an all-weather acoustic system creates the effect of live sound — as if the music is born directly from the instruments themselves. When a composition begins, visitors feel the sound flowing outward from the center, forming an immersive, three-dimensional musical environment.

INTERACTIVE PARTICIPATION

The installation is set on a granite platform with a diameter of 7 meters. Several circular zones of sensor buttons are embedded into the surface:

  • 12 buttons in the inner circle (200 mm diameter) — for selecting musical compositions.

  • 22 buttons in the outer circle (500 mm diameter):

    • 19 represent orchestral instruments — violin, trumpet, harp, timpani, double bass, flute, and others;

    • 3 feature sponsor logos, integrating brands into the light and sound performance.

When a person steps onto a button associated with a specific instrument, that instrument becomes louder. As more participants join, they add their own sounds. The music responds to everyone, creating a living open-air orchestra. When a participant steps away, their instrument fades out — as if leaving the stage.

POETRY OF LIGHT

In the evening, Orchestra shines especially brightly. Three circular ring lights with diameters of 2.4 m, 3.4 m, and 6.9 m are embedded into the granite surface, along with illumination for each button and the central sculpture. The lighting responds to the music, pulsing in rhythm with the melody and creating a fully immersive experience.

After dark, the installation transforms into a striking light show visible from afar.

INTERACTION SCENARIOS

  • Night Mode “Constellation of Sound” — all buttons are active, the platform glows with a ring of light, and all instruments play in unison.

  • Children’s Mode “Guess the Instrument” — the installation plays sounds, and children guess which instrument they belong to.

  • Festival Mode — a dynamic playlist that changes with seasons or events: classical, jazz, folk, and more.

  • Immersive Mode — synchronization with concerts and citywide events.

  • Grand Opening with a Live Orchestra — a powerful PR event that attracts media attention and public interest.

SOCIAL AND CULTURAL VALUE

Orchestra is a symbol of unity and a point of attraction capable of revitalizing any urban space. It brings generations together, inspires interaction, and fosters a sense of community.

Ideal for:

  • city parks and public squares,

  • cultural and concert venues,

  • public areas of residential complexes,

  • spaces in front of shopping centers.

FOR SPONSORS

For brands, participation in the Orchestra project is an opportunity to become part of living art that inspires and unites people. Your logo is not merely visible — it is integrated into an emotional urban experience associated with innovation, inspiration, and the culture of the future. This is not advertising, but a symbolic gesture that makes the brand part of positive change in city life.

EXPLOITATION

The installation operates year-round and is resistant to heat, frost, and rain. It requires only a connection to the power grid. Maintenance is minimal: low energy consumption and infrequent technical intervention make the project efficient and durable.

PROJECT UNIQUENESS

At present, there are no analogues to Orchestra anywhere in the world. It is the first project where people can control an orchestra’s sound in real time, creating living music through light and movement.

Orchestra is not just an installation. It is a new form of urban life, where technology becomes art, and every person becomes a musician in a greater world.
