Concept
Sails of Freedom is a floating art installation dedicated to the men and women who fought for the independence of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Positioned on the water opposite a landmark government building, it bridges historic memory with future aspirations, becoming a striking marker on the city’s waterfront.
Interactive Remembrance
Embedded QR codes connect visitors to a dedicated app featuring profiles and stories of national heroes. Families and researchers can contribute materials, turning the piece into a living memorial platform where cultural heritage evolves through community input.
Artistic Vision
Shaped as a ship — an enduring emblem of freedom, resilience, and purpose — the work features lightweight stainless-steel sails that respond to wind and light. Their subtle motion produces ever-changing reflections, echoing the nation’s ongoing journey toward progress.
