Client’s Task
To design an art installation for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 that would:
- instantly be recognized as a symbol of football and celebration;
- serve as a photo magnet and attraction point for visitors;
- remain safe, durable, and suitable for mobile use (transportation, fast assembly and disassembly);
- enhance the PR impact of the championship and partner brands.
Our Solution
- Iconography and form. A construction in the shape of a football, with artistic panels, some of which carry official tournament graphics and ornamental patterns.
- Materials and durability. A stainless steel frame combined with reinforced glass panels designed for outdoor use and heavy public interaction.
- Lighting scenario.
- Daytime: the installation functions as a sculpture with rich glass textures.
- Nighttime: dynamic RGB lighting and linear highlights create the impression of movement and the “pulse” of stadium stands.
- Mobility. Modular construction with hidden fixings allows for convenient logistics and quick installation.
- Timeline: 5 months (from concept to installation).
Result
- Soccer Ball became one of the symbols of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar and a key art accent within the event space.
- The installation is equally effective 24/7: by day as a sculpture, by night as a light performance.
- The object attracted thousands of visitors and generated significant social media content.
- The solution proved scalable and easily adaptable for different brands, cities, and events.
