ABOUT THE PROJECT

“Wealth of the Nation. Contemporary” is a contemporary interactive light and sound installation that reinterprets the national values of Kazakhstan through the language of space, light, and sound.
The project creates an open environment for communication, movement, and personal interaction, where a person becomes part of the artistic scenario.
The installation functions as a living system: it responds to presence, touch, and movement, transforming abstract meanings into a sensory experience.

ARCHITECTURAL COMPOSITION

The project is based on an ensemble of 14 vertical light columns, each 4 meters high and 710 mm in diameter, arranged in a circle with a 14-meter diameter.
The composition forms a clear architectural rhythm and an enclosed yet freely accessible spatial structure.

The columns create a circle of values — a symbol of integrity, balance, and unity, with the human at its center.

NATIONAL VALUES

Each column represents one of 14 key values of Kazakhstan, grouped into two semantic categories:

Historical values:

• Madeniyet (Culture)
• Bilim (Knowledge)
• Birlik (Unity)
• Erkindik (Freedom)
• Meimandostyk (Hospitality)

Contemporary values:

• Adami capital (Human capital)

• Bolashaq (Future)

DIGITAL DNA OF THE NATION

The surface of each column integrates cut-out codes, forming an additional visual and conceptual layer of the project.
They include:

• digital sequences linked to key dates in the history of Kazakhstan,
• geographic coordinates of significant territories,
• numerical interpretations of cultural and philosophical concepts,
• encoded elements of the Kazakh alphabet and national ornament.

These codes transform the installation into a metaphor for the digital DNA of the nation, connecting the past, present, and future.

THE CENTER OF THE COMPOSITION — A POINT OF ATTRACTION

At the center of the circle is a round podium with a 4-meter diameter, featuring a detailed relief map of modern Kazakhstan, covered with impact-resistant glass.

The podium is designed for rest, communication, and contemplation and symbolizes the territorial and semantic core of the country.
A person literally finds themselves inside the map, at the center of the circle of values and meanings.

SEVEN RADIAL LIGHT RINGS

Between the central podium and the columns, seven concentric radial RGB light rings are installed.
They symbolize:

• stages of development of the state and the individual,
• the path from roots to the future,
• the continuous movement of time and energy.

INTERACTIVITY: LIGHT, SOUND, AND TOUCH

The installation is designed as a system of living response.

When a person touches a column:

• an individual lighting scenario is activated,
• light moves vertically, creating a “breathing” and “awakening” effect,
• a unique soundscape is triggered, developed specifically for each value.

Each column has its own lighting character, sound identity, and emotional tone.

ARCHITECTURE AND MATERIALS

The columns are based on an internal stainless steel structure, ensuring reliability and long-term durability.
The outer shell is made of white light-diffusing monolithic polycarbonate, creating soft, even illumination.
Decorative elements are crafted from perforated stainless steel.

The gentle internal glow remains expressive during the daytime, while at night the installation transforms into a large-scale luminous landscape.

A NEW URBAN IDENTITY

“Wealth of the Nation” is conceived as:

• a new point of attraction for residents and tourists,
• a space for intergenerational dialogue,
• a contemporary cultural symbol of Kazakhstan.

Thousands of photographs and videos are created here, spreading the image of the project far beyond its physical location.
The installation unites art, technology, and public space into a single cohesive object.
