ABOUT THE PROJECT

“Wealth of the Nation” is a large-scale interactive light and sound installation dedicated to the core national values of Kazakhstan. The project reinterprets the idea of wealth through people, culture, knowledge, unity, and the future, forming a contemporary public symbol and a new point of attraction.

The installation combines architecture, light, sound, and tactile interaction, creating a space where the visitor is not a passive observer but an active participant.

ARCHITECTURAL CONCEPT

The composition consists of 14 vertical light columns arranged in a perfect circle with a diameter of 14 meters. This rhythm creates a unified public space for free movement, communication, and personal interaction with the meanings embedded in the project.

Each column is an independent element with its own character, while together they form a cohesive architectural ensemble that reflects the idea of national unity.

DETAILS AND SYMBOLISM

The top of each column is cut at a 30-degree angle, oriented toward the center of the composition. This architectural gesture visually unites all elements and reinforces the idea of a shared meaning.

Each column features a contemporary interpretation of the State Emblem of Kazakhstan, serving as a unifying symbol of the installation — representing unity, continuity, and the common foundation of society.

The metal elements are engraved with short statements and mottos in Kazakh, English, and Russian, ensuring cultural accuracy, international readability, and the long-term preservation of meaning.

CENTRAL PODIUM AND PUBLIC SPACE

At the heart of the installation lies a circular podium with a diameter of 4 meters, featuring a detailed relief map of modern Kazakhstan, protected by impact-resistant glass.

The podium:

• serves as a place for sitting and rest,
• encourages contemplation and dialogue,
• symbolizes the conceptual and territorial core of the nation.

Visitors physically find themselves inside the map, at the center of shared values.

INTERACTIVITY: LIGHT AND SOUND

The installation is designed as a system of living interaction.
When a visitor touches a column:

• a dynamic lighting scenario is activated,
• light moves vertically along the column, creating an “awakening” effect,
• a unique sound composition associated with that value is triggered.

Each column has its own lighting character, sound identity, and emotional tone. Visitors do not simply read the values — they experience them through interaction.

Soft internal illumination remains visible even during daytime, while at night the installation transforms into an expressive light landscape with smooth gradients and artistic transitions.

MOBILE APPLICATION

A dedicated “Wealth of the Nation” mobile application is developed as a digital extension of the physical installation.

The app allows users to:

• explore expanded descriptions of each value,
• listen to audio guides and sound compositions,
• engage more deeply with the cultural and emotional narrative of the project.

The application will be available in seven languages, making the installation accessible to an international audience — offering tourists a meaningful introduction to Kazakhstan’s cultural code and residents a tool for preserving and passing values to future generations.

ARCHITECTURE AND MATERIALS

The installation features:

• columns 4 meters high with a 710 mm diameter,
• a load-bearing structure made of stainless steel,
• an outer shell of white light-diffusing polycarbonate,
• decorative elements and medallions made of stainless steel.

The materials emphasize purity of form, durability, and the long-term presence of the installation in public space.

CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE

“Wealth of the Nation” is conceived as a new cultural landmark for residents and visitors alike — a space where a contemporary image of Kazakhstan is formed.

The installation becomes not only an art object but a recognizable cultural symbol, generating photographs, videos, and personal experiences that carry the idea of the project far beyond its physical location.
