"Aqua-Flora" water
public art installation
Project details
- Location: Uman, Ukraine
- Client: National Dendrological Park “Sofievka”
- Year of completion: 2019
- Dimensions: 2.0 m × 1.16 m × 1.16 m
Client’s task
Create expressive water installation for a park and recreational area that:
- will demonstrate how human creativity can reflect the beauty of nature;
- will organically complement the landscape and become a photogenic point of attraction;
- will ensure safe and sustainable operation in public space.
Our solution
- Composition and image. Two independent fountains with blooming clusters: glass and copper convey the effect of endless spring, and soft water jets connect the elements into a single scene.
- Light and water. 4 LED sources in each core enhance the depth of textures of copper and glass; reflections and highlights create a dynamic atmosphere at dusk.
- Materials and Engineering. Art glass, copper, corrosion-resistant structures; closed loop with water filtration and disinfection for stable operation and minimal maintenance.
- Integration into the environment. The dimensions and fit are chosen so that the installation harmonizes with the surroundings and does not overload pedestrian flows.
- Compound: 2 fountains, 240 glass flowers, 8 LED lights (4 in each)
- Implementation period: 5 months
Result
- “Aqua-Flora” became rest area logo : a place for photography, meditation and contemplation of water.
- The installation enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the park and generated a steady stream of organic content on social media.
- The combination of glass, copper, light and water created a recognizable linguistic code of space: during the day – subtle material graphics, In the evening — light poetry and reflections.
“Aqua-Flora” from Skyform Studio – a dialogue between art and nature, which turns water into a stage and space into a living picture.
