Interactive Light Display Area
ABOUT THE PROJECT
"Strings of Light" transforms footsteps into a stream of colored pulses and the sounds of musical instruments.
Each button controls a separate light strip, inviting participants to explore lighting scenarios, experiment, and compete. When people activate all seven buttons at the same time, the individual “strings” come together to form a single light-and-music composition.
INTERACTION SCENARIOS
- Free play. A participant steps on a button, triggering a light pulse from the beginning to the end of their line. The light display is accompanied by the sounds of musical instruments.
- Light variations. Repeated presses change the scenarios: individual pulses travel along the line or their sequences, the color palettes and lighting combinations change.
- Light Races. Participants choose their own paths and compete by triggering light pulses using buttons. The rules for the competitive modes are explained on information signs.
- Group Sound. Participants press all seven buttons at the same time and trigger the group lighting and music design. Individual lines become parts of a single composition created thanks to our joint efforts.
LOCATIONS
City squares, parks, waterfronts, residential complexes, shopping centers, and business centers,
educational and cultural spaces, university campuses.
DIMENSIONS
The overall dimensions of the site are 12.6 × 7.1 m.

Linear light fixtures — total length 72 running meters.
KEY ELEMENTS
Seven interactive floor-mounted light buttons, seven linear light fixtures of varying lengths,
a sound system, information signs with game rules, and a control system for lighting, sound, and game scenarios. The buttons and lights are installed flush with the flooring.
When no one is playing, the court remains lit in a subdued, background mode.
The number and length of the light lines can be adjusted to suit the dimensions and characteristics of the space, as well as the customer's preferences.
