Our public art projects

Big Runby Skyform Studio is a 13-meter sculpture created as a modern interpretation of one of the most famous architectural symbols of the world. The installation became the central object of the New England residential complex, combining the architectural heritage of London and modern urban space.

The stainless steel tower, with its automotive paint job and clock on four sides, has become an iconic focal point, receiving widespread recognition and thousands of social media posts. This project demonstrates how public art can shape the identity of a space and enhance its cultural value.

Soccer Ball is a contemporary public art installation by Skyform Studio created for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and dedicated to football as a symbol of global unity. The object combines stainless steel and art glass, transforming into an expressive sculpture during the day and into a dynamic light show at night. thanks to built-in RGB lighting and linear lights.

The geometry of the installation is inspired by the classic soccer ball: pentagonal and hexagonal panels form a solid shape, while individual edges are decorated with graphics from the Qatar World Cup. This artistic technique emphasizes the idea of uniting fans from all over the world around the number one game.

Cleveland Crystal– a modern light installation from Skyform Studio dedicated to the city of Cleveland. This unique piece of urban art embodies the city’s energy, history and aspirations for the future.

The polyhedral crystal shape reflects Cleveland’s layered character:

  • upper partshowcases modern typography and clean shapes to symbolize progress, innovation and development;
  • lower part, decorated with openwork ornaments and light projections, creates an atmosphere of warmth and magic, emphasizing the cultural and historical heritage of the city.

During the day, the installation interacts with the city landscape and fits organically into the architectural context. When darkness falls, the built-in RGB lighting and perforated metal panels bring the crystal to life, turning it into a dynamic art object that creates mesmerizing light and shadow patterns that change depending on the viewing angle and time of day.

Magnolia — an art installation by Skyform Studio, embodying the beauty of eternal bloom. The 12-foot (3.6 m) metal tree is decorated with 160 glass flowers handcrafted by the studio’s artisans. Each bud conveys the fragile beauty of spring, creating an atmosphere of renewal and harmony at any time of the year.

The structure is covered with durable automotive paint and protected with multi-layer varnish, which ensures durability and maintains the aesthetic appeal of the installation for many years.

Polygon 55is a branded public art installation from Skyform Studio, created from durable stainless steel and painted in the signature colors of the 55 SQUARE brand. Measuring 2.13m in height, this geometric sculpture instantly attracts attention with its scale and expressive form.

Inside the object, powerful RGB lighting is installed, which turns the sculpture into a vibrant landmark when darkness falls: the light highlights facets and ribs, and the space around it comes to life with dynamic patterns of light and shadow, creating an immersive viewing experience.

Ascending Pegasus– a large-scale installation by Skyform Studio, where innovation meets the grace of myth. Made from durable steel, the Pegasus figure is carefully molded and galvanized, coated with automotive paint and protected with multi-layer varnish. The sculpture floats above the water on a stainless steel base with floats, creating the illusion of Pegasus walking across the surface of the reservoir with its wings spread.

Length – 2.5 m, height – 3.2 m. Inside and at the base there are 15 lamps that form a light scenario: at dusk, Pegasus turns into a shining beacon, visible from afar, and reflections on the water add magic and movement to the image.

Aqua Cascata— the author’s interior fountain from Skyform Studio, which transformed the Huntington Convention Center into a living oasis of water and light. The composition is based on a dialogue between natural agate, exclusive art glass, cascading water and living greenery. From the first day, the fountain became a natural point of attraction: a place for photographs, relaxation and contemplation. The soft sound of water and the reflections of light on glass and stone create an atmosphere of calm and sophisticated elegance.

Aqua flora — a water installation by Skyform Studio, where nature meets art. Two elegant fountains “bloom” with 240 flowers made of artistic glass and copper. Thin streams of water flow from the delicate buds. At the core of each fountain there are 4 powerful LED lights that enliven the composition and draw mesmerizing light patterns on the surrounding surfaces. The water filtration and disinfection system guarantees the cleanliness and stable operation of the installation.

sailboat is a unique floating sculptural installation by Skyform Studio, where engineering meets the poetry of art. The impressive stainless steel object, 8 meters high, 7 meters long and 2.4 meters wide, rises above the artificial reservoir, creating the illusion of a sailboat gliding freely across the surface of the water.

As evening approaches, the sculpture transforms: 60 built-in lamps transform it into a radiant art object, visible from a great distance. Beneath its graceful forms lies powerful engineering: three pumps with a total power of 22.5 kW, delivering up to 255 m³ of water per hour. This system not only ensures the stability of the structure on water, but also “revitals” it, combining the statics of metal and the dynamics of water.

FC Kolos– a landmark installation by Skyform Studio near the football stadium, where the spirit of sports is combined with the plasticity of modern art. In the center of the composition is a brass sheaf of wheat hugging a soccer ball. This image became a metaphor for the club’s resilience, work and unity. With a height of 4.5 m, the central sculpture dominates the space and sets the accent for the entire area.

The ensemble is complemented by six small sculptures made of stainless steel, coated with deep gold paint and protected with a special varnish. Each approximately 1.5m high and wide form an elegant cluster around the fountain bowl, reinforcing the club’s signature identity and creating the effect of a focal point.

FAQ: Public art for cities and businesses

1. What are public art installations?

Public art installations are large-scale works of contemporary art created specifically for public spaces: city squares, parks, embankments, airports, train stations, museums, hotels, shopping centers and other public spaces. Unlike museum exhibits, public art is accessible to everyone – it lives in an urban environment, shapes the emotional perception of space and makes it more expressive, inspiring and memorable.

Modern public art projects unite art, architecture, design and engineering, becoming powerful symbols of place and points of cultural attraction. They set the mood of the urban environment, become an element of city branding and an important PR tool for commercial properties.

Why are public art installations created?

  • They transform the environment and form a unique image of the city.
  • They strengthen the identity and image of a place, making it recognizable.
  • Increase the value and attractiveness of public and commercial spaces.
  • They create new points of attraction for residents, tourists and investors.
  • Stimulate the development of local communities and cultural dialogue.

IN SKYFORM STUDIO we create unique public art installations, which are organically integrated into the architecture and landscape, emphasize the identity of the territory and form “iconic landmarks” – objects that become symbols of the city and increase its cultural and investment potential.

2. What forms of public art installations exist?

Public art covers a wide range of artistic formats – from traditional monuments to high-tech multimedia spaces. They all serve the same purpose: to transform the environment, engage people and emphasize the identity of the place.

Main forms of public art:

  1. Sculptures and monuments.A classic look of public art that defines the character of the space. These can be monumental objects, abstract compositions or figurative forms reflecting history and culture. Today, classical solutions are gradually giving way to more modern art forms, but still remain in demand as symbols.
  2. Interactive Spaces. One of the most relevant formats of modern public art. The viewer becomes a participant – floor panels and touch tiles respond to steps with light and sound, multimedia tunnels create dynamics, and art zones with sensors enliven the space. This format works both day and night, creating “Instagrammable spaces” and a powerful PR effect.
  3. Kinetic installations.Moving art objects where dynamics are created using wind, water or kinetic winches. These can be sculptures, facades, and even entire art compositions that respond to viewers. They create a feeling of life and constant movement, making architecture expressive and unique.
  4. Light art.Light sculptures, projection mapping and media facades. They are especially effective in the evening and at night: they create an atmosphere and make the space a center of attraction.
  5. Sound art.Installations where sound becomes the main means of expression. These could be sound sculptures, music platforms or audio installations using natural noises.
  6. Integration into architecture.Public art built into buildings and infrastructure: facades with dynamic panels, art pavilions or art benches. Such objects transform utilitarian elements into cultural symbols.
  7. Land art and environmental projects.Installations integrated into nature: sculptures in parks and embankments, projects made from recycled materials or using renewable energy. They form a connection between man and nature.
  8. Digital art.Holograms, multimedia panels, AR/VR installations. This direction shows how technology becomes part of art and shapes images of the future.

Result: public art today is multifaceted. It can be static or dynamic, interactive or digital. At SKYFORM STUDIO we create solutions that not only decorate a space, but also make it lively, engaging and unique.

3. How much does it cost to create a public art sculpture?

The cost of SKYFORM STUDIO art objects is always calculated individually, since each public sculpture or installation is a unique combination of art, engineering and architecture. We adhere to the principle of complete transparency: we provide each client with a detailed estimate that covers all stages – from concept development and 3D visualizations to production, delivery and installation.

Factors affecting cost

  • Size and scale. Larger projects require more materials, manufacturing resources and labor time, which directly increases the budget.
  • Complexity of design and engineering. Individual art forms, kinetic elements, interactive scenarios and non-standard design solutions increase labor intensity and cost, but make the project unique and status.
  • Materials. The cost depends on the choice: art glass, bronze, stainless steel or stone are significantly more expensive than steel, aluminum or composites, but give the object durability and a premium look.
  • Technologies. The use of LED lighting, sensors, multimedia systems, projections and specialized software requires additional costs.
  • Installation conditions. The foundation, soil strengthening, site specifics and sales geography directly affect the price.
  • Deadlines. Urgent projects and shortened deadlines require additional resources, which increases the budget.
  • Project documentation. The complete package – concept, drawings, renderings and animations – is more expensive, but provides predictability and accuracy of implementation.
  • Royalty. Includes the creative work of artists and designers who create a unique concept and artistic value of the object.

Approximate price ranges

  • Small art objects and interior sculptures – from 30,000 USD
  • Medium-scale installations and sculptures – USD 50,000–200,000
