«SAILS OF FORTUNE» fountain with kinetic Art Installation

CONCEPT

Sails of Fortune is a fountain featuring a large-scale kinetic art installation shaped as a golden sailing vessel, conceived as a symbol of luck, progress, prosperity, and the pursuit of new horizons.

The installation combines sculpture, water, light, reflections, and the natural movement of the wind. During the day, it is perceived as an elegant architectural composition. After sunset, it transforms into a glowing golden landmark that attracts attention from a distance and becomes the visual centerpiece of the surrounding public space.

The defining image of the project is a sail filled with wind. It represents a journey, energy, new opportunities, and forward momentum. For this reason, Sails of Fortune is much more than a decorative fountain—it can become a powerful visual symbol for a city, public square, residential development, resort, or other public destination.

A SCULPTURE BROUGHT TO LIFE BY THE WIND

The installation is built around a sculptural boat with a large sail composed of 910 engraved gilded stainless-steel plates.

These plates move naturally under the influence of the wind, creating the impression of a living sail. Every change in the airflow causes the surface to shimmer, reflect light, and continuously transform its visual appearance.

As a result, the installation remains dynamic without relying on mechanical drives. Nature itself animates the sculpture, while wind, light, and reflections across the water continuously reshape the visual experience.

WATER, GOLD, AND LIGHT

The fountain reinforces the image of the sailing vessel while creating a calm reflective environment around it. The water functions as a natural mirror, reflecting the golden hull, the sail, the architectural lighting, and the surrounding buildings.

During daylight hours, the installation expresses itself through its sculptural form, premium materials, engraved details, highlights, and the movement of the gilded plates. In the evening, the integrated RGB lighting system transforms the fountain into a striking illuminated composition.

The combination of water, metal, and light gives the installation a refined, ceremonial, and memorable appearance.

A SYMBOL OF LUCK AND FORWARD MOTION

The name Sails of Fortune expresses the central idea behind the project.

A sailing vessel has always symbolized travel, choosing a direction, hope, freedom, and the pursuit of new opportunities. Fortune represents luck, favorable winds, and a successful journey.

Within a public environment, the installation can become a symbol of progress, prosperity, and confidence in the future. It is particularly appropriate for locations seeking to establish a strong emotional identity and an unforgettable visual landmark.

AN URBAN LANDMARK

Sails of Fortune functions simultaneously as a fountain, sculptural artwork, illuminated installation, photo destination, and symbol of place.

Its scale and elegance naturally attract visitors. People approach the fountain to admire the details of the sail, observe the movement of the plates, take photographs beside the water, and return again in the evening when the illumination reveals an entirely different character.

The fountain has the potential to become the central feature of a public space, encouraging activity and naturally drawing people together.

WHERE THE INSTALLATION CAN BE USED

Sails of Fortune is especially suitable for locations that require a strong visual centerpiece with a premium architectural presence.

The installation can be placed:

  • in city squares;
  • in parks and public gardens;
  • on waterfronts;
  • in tourist districts;
  • near hotels and resort complexes;
  • within modern residential developments;
  • beside business centers and commercial districts;
  • adjacent to shopping centers;
  • within restaurant complexes;
  • in cultural and exhibition venues;
  • at festival and event locations.

For a city, the installation can become a new visual icon.

For a residential development, it can serve as the central feature of the landscape design.

For a hotel or resort, it becomes a premium photo destination and an impressive evening lighting feature.

For a public square, it creates a natural gathering place where people meet, walk, and spend time together.
